Alton_Yates finally broke away and approached Rory. "How are you today Ms. rory?" he asked politely

Alton_Yates nodded a bit. "That we did. So have you been enjoying yourself at the party?"
Rory_Silverlight_ : I am and you?
Alton_Yates I must admit that it has its charms
Rory_Silverlight_ smiled a bit and started to wander where there was room..."What are those charms?"
Alton_Yates "Well it is a pleasant atmosphere overall and seeing many of the order in one place is heartening considering the dangers we normally face."
Rory_Silverlight_ nods, "I would agree with that...and the other charms?"a
Alton_Yates : "Would you be offended if I said that your instruction in dancing was also a charm?"
Rory_Silverlight_ : I would have to take that as a compliment.
Alton_Yates : "Well then it would most certainly have to be added to the list."
Rory_Silverlight_ smiles and puts her hands together in front of her..."But how much fun has this dance really been?"
Alton_Yates : "I could not compare it to another as I have never attended another one but I would have to say that this one has been an enjoyable respot."
Rory_Silverlight_ nods quietly as they walk along...."I am glad you enjoyed this. Things like this are supposed to be magical....like a fairy tale...but more or less they are surreal."

Alton_Yates "Well I don't know if I would attribute the word magical to my expectations..but then again, I've never been much of one for fairy tales."

Alton_Yates nodded a bit at that. "I guessed as much." he admitted. "I hope we can find him soon."
Rory_Silverlight_ headed out to one of the 'outside' areas where there were fewer people and leaned against the rail of it..."I do to..."
Alton_Yates followed her and turned his back to lean against the rail looking away for the time being letting a quiet moment settle in
Rory_Silverlight_ closed her eyes for a minute and took in the quiet too, the din of the ball room was more than enough.
Alton_Yates glanced over at Rory quietly. "For what it is worth I am sorry that we haven't found him yet."
Rory_Silverlight_ looked at Alton, "He was gone long before we got there. I should have gone back when I had the chance."
Alton_Yates nodded a bit. "I know..but there is no telling what might have happened if you had traveled home sooner."
Rory_Silverlight_ nods looking back across the area over the other side of the railing...quieting now.
Alton_Yates turned around and rested against the rail leaning over it a bit and looking down just thinking
Rory_Silverlight_ : Do you want to go back in?
Alton_Yates "I am fine out here..but I will return if that is your desire."
Rory_Silverlight_ : I actually would rather not...is there anything else we could do?
Alton_Yates : "Did you have something in mind?"

Alton_Yates nodded before pushing himself off the rail motioning if she wanted to walk beside him. "By all means."
Rory_Silverlight_ moved from the railing and walked beside him, "So what, if I can ask, made you decide to become a Jedi?"
Alton_Yates "You may ask me anything you wish Ms. Rory." he said walking along side her and looked up for a moment at the question before answering. "Well..I guess the most honest answer would be that it is what I have always been. I like many others was taken from my family as an infant and have known no other life than that of the order. Rory_Silverlight_ nods taking in his words and thinking them over, "I had not thought a lot about the things I could do....things I thought were no more than instinct or intuition."
Alton_Yates nodded a bit. "I understand..sometimes we do not realize what our gifts truly are or what they may mean. For sensitivity is a rare thing it is no wonder that you did not realize what you actually had."

Alton_Yates "It can..but it also appears at seemingly random. There are instances where force sensitive parents do not produce a force sensitive child but more instances where non-force sensitive parents produce a child that is indeed force sensitive."

Alton_Yates "Without a good deal of curiosity most people would have never left home and the galaxy would nnot be as populated as it is now."
Rory_Silverlight_ : I guess so....Dad did not seem to want to visit other places much.
Alton_Yates "It is possible he was worried about running into some of your uncles business partners."
Rory_Silverlight_ : I would have loved to see some other places...believe it or not Haven is the first place I have been outside home.
Alton_Yates smiled. "Well if I don't miss my guess then it is likely you will visit a good number of places before all is said and done."
Rory_Silverlight_ : I think my dad was right...I should stay here...
Alton_Yates "The choice will be yours Ms. Rory as always. But at least consider traveling around..there is a lot to see in this galaxy and some of it beyond description."
Rory_Silverlight_ : I am sure it is...but he wanted me here for a reason and I actually went against his wishes when we went back to the house.
Alton_Yates He wanted you safe, but if history is any indication Haven may not always be so..your proximity to us could place you in danger just as it may protect you. The jedi are not without our enemies and so you may have to disobey his wishes again for your own safety."
Rory_Silverlight_ : I understand what you say but still, he wanted me here....and maybe it might have to do with coming to me later. I don't really know.
Alton_Yates nodded. "Very well..we will leave it as such for now..but we may have to discuss it again at a point in the future."
Rory_Silverlight_ : True...so what was it like growing up in the Order.
Alton_Yates "An ordeal..but one that I would not change. There were lessons and some of the teachers were strict but I was growing stronger and learning. Even if it was a challenge it was one that I accepted and eventually grew into."

Alton_Yates "Powerful emotions are considered dangerous for a jedi..emotions like hate and anger can lead easily to the darkside..relationships can entail other emotions like jealousy or can push jedi to ignore duty..that is why such things are frowned upon."

Alton_Yates "Again I would not know..I know what I have been taught that such things have lead good jedi astray and many have fallen to the darkside because they could not handle the emotional side of things."

Alton_Yates let his lips curve into a soft smile watching her smell the roses as he thought about the best way to answer her question. "Well..training can be fun if it is done right but other than jedi stuff, which is what I assume you are asking..I like to explore..and learn more about my surroundings and people in general."
Rory_Silverlight_ looked at him and seeing his smile she returned it, "Well that is all well and good but I meant fun...like tonight...'
Alton_Yates nodded a bit. "Well..I don't go to many parties unfortunately..but there is something that I enjoy doing..when I do have the time."

Alton_Yates moved to hold out a hand towards her. "come on and I will show you.."

Alton_Yates took her hand out and moved to guide her along the pathway and soon they would be back in the space station proper heading through the cooridors until they reached a turbo lift which he would motion for her to enter
Rory_Silverlight_ followed along behind him and once at the lift platform she got on and waited for him to enter after her...feeling now out of place in the getup.
Alton_Yates entered behind her and pressed one of the buttons on the lifts walls and soon they would be heading up
Rory_Silverlight_ looked up as the lift started to move..."Where are we going?"
Alton_Yates "You'll see." he replied and stepped out once the lift stopped and opened up. He would motion for her to follow. Once she emerged she would see they were on the observation deck where the entire station could be seen through the viewports along with all of the ships coming and going from haven
Rory_Silverlight_ stepped off of the lift and saw it was an observation deck and she let out a sigh as she saw the view..."THis is in a way beautiful..."
Alton_Yates "Ah but that isn't the only thing.." he said heading to the glass and pressed a few buttons on a panel next to the window and several shields moved back revealing a 360 degree view of the station and traffic..and a moment later he would tap another button releasing the artificial gravity.
Rory_Silverlight_ got an even better view as he opened the windows up more by activating the shields to move...and then she felt herself suddenly starting to float...."Whoa.....whats....this...'
Alton_Yates "Fun.." He answered floating up to the ceiling pushing off the wall lazily which allowed him to float about the room almost flying."
Rory_Silverlight_ got to the wall and pushed away watching as the skirt started to float upwards and around her waist..."If you have a pair of pants on...."
Alton_Yates smirked a little bit at that having not considered that. "Try pushing off of something the air resistance should keep it pinned down."
Rory_Silverlight_ got to another spot and used her feet and pushed away and the skirt followed the same path...she caught his smirk though...."What is so funny?"
Alton_Yates "Nothing I just hadn't thought about you wearing a skirt..my apologies for my oversight."

Alton_Yates smiled a bit and kicked off again floating to be alongside her. "But it is fun.." he said with a soft smile

Alton_Yates smiled and pulled a flip before springing after her. "Care to race?" he asked softly

Alton_Yates landed against the third wall and braced himself pushing off the wall losing a couple precious seconds in the repositioning
Rory_Silverlight_ bounded off the wall just after he did heading for the one they started from and this time she was going to use a bit of manuvering....she took a hold of his hand and pulled herself forward hoping it would slow him or push him backwards.

Alton_Yates smiled letting her grab a hold of him and propel herself forward even as it slowed down his momentum he used the force to push away from the wall to regain his speed even though she had gone ahead
Rory_Silverlight_ floated and reached out to try to get to the wall before him..giggling now...she looked back to see how close he was getting.

Alton_Yates laughed a bit himself as she touched the wall before him and reached his hands out to slow his own momentum before he collided with the wall pressing back against it before coming to a stop laughing at the whole idea of the race.
Rory_Silverlight_ leaned against the wall calming from her laughter a bit as they stopped the race..."That was fun...'
Alton_Yates rested against the wall letting his laughter subside. "Yes it was." he admitted pushing off towards the center of the room using the force to control his motion until he was stopped dead center and pulled a flip to be on his back motioning her to join him.
Rory_Silverlight_ pushed off but with slower motions and found herself going to the center reaching a hand to him to help her get there...
Alton_Yates caught her hand within his own to help her stop and to guide her to his side carefully so she would be able to see out like this..suspended and weightless
Rory_Silverlight_ leaned against his side after he helped her stop and get settled, "'This is quite a trip...."
Alton_Yates couldn't help but smile with that statement. "Don't get to do this all that often..but there is something to be said for this." he said softly glancing over at her
Rory_Silverlight_ looked at him and smiled..."I guess you don't bring just anyone here and show them this?"
Alton_Yates "Until today..I haven't shown anyone this..my teacher noticed I sometimes took time to myself during training but it never really came up." he admitted softly

Alton_Yates did the same staring out at the stars contentedly.

Alton_Yates : "Well we could but it would require space suits..and that would rather ruin the fun I think."
Rory_Silverlight_ looked at him...."How when we would be in the actual place?"
Alton_Yates looked over at her. "Well if we weren't tethered to something we would be out there a long while and we'd have to worry about oxygen..in here its probably the closest to being out there safely."
Rory_Silverlight_ nodded..."in that you are right....but it would still be fun."
Alton_Yates nodded. "Indeed it would be."

Rory_Silverlight_ felt a serenity she had not expected to...something beyond what she was used to.
Alton_Yates drew on the force as his breathing began to slow and he relaxed a bit more enjoying the quiet...peaceful moment.
Rory_Silverlight_ closed her eyes letting herself float away....within the comforts of the Force.
Alton_Yates let out a long slow breath which pushed him back a bit. Meditation was something jedi were good at and being weightless it seemed could be a bit relaxing when there wasn't any danger involved
Rory_Silverlight_ felt a tug as they got a slight push when Alton's breath changed out a bit...she opened her eyes and watched him.
Alton_Yates drew on the force guiding himself through the observation room letting it resettle him where he was before he opened his eyes once again smiling. "Sorry..so used to meditating when things get quiet like this."
Rory_Silverlight_ smiled slightly, "its okay...."
Alton_Yates : "So now that you have seen what I do for fun..what do you do if I may ask?"
Rory_Silverlight_ : I read a lot, I try to uncover things that get my interest.
Alton_Yates : "What kind of things?"
Rory_Silverlight_ : Histories, about other worlds since I have not seen any of them, other beings...
