(Back On Alderaan)

Senator Brander Torok, gazed at the many empty pods (seats), if the Sith believed they had pulled off success they had not, the Senate had survived, only a mere few, many lives had been lost, many Senators lives were taken on space station Iczell 001, along with the innocent, and those who stayed behind to defend her.

Brander stood in his pod, and now would address those's Senators who were still left.

"Senators we most rebuild a new Republic, a new Senate, the Sith think they have won, they have not.. many of us stand here today, we the Senate shall always remember those who we lost on Iczell 001, I mourn the souls we had lost that day" he paused for a momeant. What was Korribans reasons in wipping out the Senate, were they the Senate to run, and hide now ?

"I know this is early, but we need to vote in a new Chancellor, to lead the New Senate" he said, and now took a seat, leaving the floor open to the others to speak.

(OOC I wasn't sure to post this here or the Senate forum, there is no Senate Hall listed, only voteing is listed there atm)

The Young Jedi Knight Atton Rayne Stood At One Of The Many Entrances To The Senate Hall, His Arms Folded Across His Chest, His Eyes Closed And Head Bowed Slightly...He Had Heard Word Of This Meeting Of The Galaxy's Representatives And Decided To Come And See What They Were Doing To Finish The Siths Reign. He Already Knew What His Brethren Were Doing...Not Alot, And It Caused Him Unrest, A Thing That Would Be Clearly Identifiable InHis Force Signature To Any That Were Sensitive To It. He Found Himself Questioning The Jedi Council More & More Lately, Which Is Something He Had Never Done Before, Even After Dantooine, And All The Others, Even After He Was Left To Deal With Sharaha Himself...But Now, After Another Attack, And Still No Willingness To Act, The Questions Were Coming Thick And Fast...It Troubled Him, Perhaps They Were Content To Sit And Watch The Galaxy Burn, But He Could Not. And So He Remained, Listening To The Man Speak... 'Politician's' he thought 'takes them months to decide anything, maybe a chancellor would be the right way forward, easier to decide things for sure...' he paused and flicked open his eyes 'perhaps that would work for the jedi also...the council is just as bad as the senate for mulling over decisions lately...' he sighed and glanced around from his vantage point...waiting for other senators to speak...

Seated in one of the pods nearest to the rest of the senators, Ajax Flint no longer sat in the senate pod designated for the unified federation of Talus and Tralus. There were too few of them for that. Too few survivors remained to dignify the use of the entire Senate hall on Alderaan. Together with the captain of his Luxury Yacht, the pair of them sat in silence as the small number of senators assembled and waited for someone to take charge. Again it was Senator Brander that stepped up. As much as it was true that leadership was needed, he questioned what descisions that leadership would bring about. Therefore, once the din had died down about a new Chancellor, Ajax rose up to his feet.

"Wise words, Senator Torok, but how long will we have to wait for a Chancellor to be appointed? How long after that until even with the guidence of a Chancellor can we rally the planetary governments to our cause, when half of them still swear their loyalties to the Emperess? The Senators killed on the station were a part of this senate of their own free will. When new senators are appointed, how many of them will have the same conviction as those martyred at Iczell? How many of them will be puppets of the Empress sent as figureheads to sway the senate, and when we appoint a new Chancellor, how do we know for sure that the Chancellor will not be one of those puppets? It has happened before, the Senate decieved and ruled by a power hungry Chancellor. Why not again?"

"How can the Senate stand for all that is good and righteous in the world when an Empire remains to stamp out freedom and destroy the peace we work to achieve? How can the Senate truly be a democratic body when half the Galaxy is ruled by a tyrant? I believe that before we can rebuild, there is a task we must first undertake. I would propose that through connections with rebel elements we immidiately begin the complete and utter destruction of the Empire."

Brander leaned back in his seat, and now listened to Senator Flint, of course Flint had a good point, "We as a senate, if we feel a Senator maybe a threat or a puppet, action can be taken befor allowing them to become part of the new Senate, one suggestion, have them screened by a Jedi Knight, a Jedi can determine if the person is of the light or of the darkside, this is only a suggestion of course. There is truth in what you say, the Sith have become a power in the galaxy, we had all witnessed what they did too Iczell 001, how do we stop the Sith?, and the Empress has become very dangerous".
"You have my full support Senator Flint, in what you propose, I second it, and it would have to go to a vote, that we are all in agreemeant with what you propose", Brander said.

"As for the position of acting Chancellor, I would like to nominate Senator Flint, for the position, others are welcomed to also run for position as the new Chancellor of the Senate, voted on as we all ways do". He said, looking to each of them, and now took notice of Attan Rayne standing at one of the many senate hall entrances.

"Welcome Jedi Knight, your welcome to attended this meeting, please join us" Brander said, the Jedi were welcomed within the senate hall.

The aging senator was a little surprised, but none the less pleased, to see that his proposition was supported by Senator Torok. Such a mandate for the temporary Senate would go against everything the old Senate had stood for - namely, peace through diplomacy. However, as he made perfectly clear - the old Senate was dead, and times called for new measures. Therefore, with his unnoficial declaration of war seconded, he would go ahead and elabourate further, so that the other Senators could have the answers to the questions Brander Torak asked. Leaning over to use the controls in his pod to activate the holographic projector over the center of the chamber, he brought up an image of an Imperial walled forward base camp, taken from the upper atmosphere of whatever planet it was portraying.

"I will leave the matter of Chancellor to others to discuss. In the meantime, I will show the seemingly invisible 'strength' of the Empire. Here is the planet of Geonosis. On the ridge to the west, rebel forces - smugglers, free traders, even native Geonosians, all fed up with the way the Empire tries to boss them about. All I did was help them get in touch with each other, add a few Heavy weapons into the mix, and..."

He played the video. A rocket fired out, detonating above the main complex and destroying the communications dish while the forces charged. On the walls, the Imperial sentries were felled by sharp shooters in the cliffs. The initial siege was over with in less than a minute, with only wounded on the side of the Rebels. The raid of the bunker beneath took just as long. Thermal detonators made short work of anyone within, and as the plume of dust billowed out from the doorway of the bunker, resulting from the explosion, the Senator paused the holotape.

"The Emperess is obsessed with tracking down the remaining Jedi. As a result, their forces not involved in this process are spread thin. Now, recent reports suggest that the Jedi have illuded the Empire for the moment. The Jedi are suffering just as much as this senate - trying to rebuild after the merciless slaughter of nearly all of their comarades. If we can instigate a full frontal attack from rebel forces on the Empire, we may be able to draw their attention away from the Jedi, so that their order may rebuild. At the same time, we prepare a fleet to attack the sith where it will hurt them most: one of the most ancient planets under Sith control - Korriban." He pulled up a star chart now, showing the location in the galaxy. "Once the Jedi are prepared, they can join us, and we will strike against this new Sith fleet just as we will strike at the Empire."

Turning to face the Jedi addressed by Senator Torok, Flint extended a hand out towards him. "Due to recent events, I am out of touch with my contacts around the galaxy. Any insight as to how you think the Jedi will react to the news of the Sith fleet will be greatly appreciated. If we and the Rebel Alliance were to assemble a fleet capable of taking them on, could we count on the support of the Jedi?"

Brander watched the holotape closely, and Senator Flint had Branders full attention, "Senator Flint sorry to intrude", befor we take this misson on, it is said Korribans planet is surrounded by high defences, perhaps only a rumour, but if not we at the moment have not the knowledge of what these weapons are for us to rush in there blinded, though a risk I am willing to take, a suggustion befor your proposition is voted on. Perhaps we can infliltrate Korriban find out what these weapons are, I am force sensitive, and I am willing to volunteer myself, pose as wanting to join the Sith Academy find out as much information we would need, befor moving forward on this".

Brander wanted to be safe then sorry, what if they all got slaughtered in the attempts to strike attack Korrban, many lives could be lost again..

:: Atton lowered his arms to his side, bowing slightly as he did and then stepping forward into the light. He gazed around the hall while making his way to an empty pod, despite the recent loss of many senators...it was stiull daunting knowing that you were about to address the leaders of the free worlds of the republic, with a single deep, slow breath he stepped onto the poid and moved to the micro-phone, composed and calm..."Greetings..." he said, his calm cool voice echoing through the hall, he was not nervous at all anymore...but carried himself with the calm purpose of a jedi..."...firstly may i say that your desire to do something and soon is an encouraging sign, even after all this office has been through, you are strong, and many of my brethren are as willing for action...myself included" he paused, looking around the hall for a moment, his thoughts driffting to his sister breifly..."...but," he began, his tone now slightly graver "an attack on korriban would be fruitless at this juncture." Bowing his head slightly he continued "while Korriban is indeed a sith strong hold, and its destruction would be a major blow to the empress...i do not belive Sharaha is on the planet to offten, so the chances of finishing her would be a shot in the dark..." looking around again "...you said yourselfs, the sith have become strong, the darkside is ever present, and if you think the empress is a problem, the jedi have recently learned of other sith, sith opposing the empress, sith with fleets of their own...as for if the order will assist your strike of korriban, i can not say...that is for the council to decide. Though i know of many who would step up to the challange, i know few who would do so without the backing of the council..." he sighed softly "as such, i feel i should plead with you not to strike yet, it would be a waste of lives and resources...only when the jedi order is able, and we have the numbers, should we strike...not just korriban, but all known sith possitions and planets..." he paused...wondering wether he had over stepped his authority...suggesting things to the senate?...this is not a jedi's place...he looked around a few more moments before bowing slightly and stepping backwards from the mic...his arms folding into the sleeves of his cloak ::

Bowing his head in a returned greeting to the Jedi who entered - a gesture that in a full hall would have gone unseen, but with so few would be visible. He listened intently to the opinions of both the Jedi and the other Senators, though he felt that his proposition was somewhat misinterpreted. He would clarify when the floor returned to him. "You misunderstand. I spoke of specific battles to be undertaken, but what I truly was getting at was that we must take some form of action. If we are to wage a war it will involve much preparation and planning. Scouting missions, as you proposed Senator Torok, for example. To undertake such a full scale invasion of such strongly defended Sith worlds would be foolish for now, especially without the support of the Jedi. Now, I understand that you cannot speak for the Council themselves, and that you will need to regain your strength before any actions can be taken."

"The Jedi need time to rebuild without the Sith fleet breathing down their necks though. If there are opposing factions of Sith vying for control, it will give the Emperess something to think about. Still, we can do something from our end as well, to buy the Jedi much needed time. We can attack supply lines, intercept Sith fleets en-route to reinforce other locations, encourage rebellion on planets where the Imperial rule is opposed. Perhaps if we could call in representatives from the Rebel fleet and the Jedi Council, we can begin selecting specific targets to hit? If you, Knight...forgive me, I did not catch your name..." he said, turning his attention back to Atton in particular. "If you could contact the Jedi Council, and if you would be willing, act as a representative to their opinions and their progress rebuilding. I believe that would be better than calling one of the Jedi Council members themselves here. They are busy enough as it is. If you are busy as well, or would rather suggest another Jedi, you are still more than welcome to sit in at the meetings."

:: Atton stood sentinel his eyes on senator Flint his brow slightly furrowed in concentration....indeed the senator speaks the truth...the problem would be amassing a fleet capable of an attack with out attracting the attention of the empire...or, any other sinister beings...he dropped his head slightly thinking, but also continuing to take in the senators words, 'at least they are anxious for action...' he thought to himself...'thats an encouraging sign' his head snapped up when it was suggested he be representative to this senate...'that'...he thought to himself 'was unexpected'...stepping forward quickly and as soon as flint had stopped speaking he cleared his throught "thank you for your vote of confidence senator Flint, and forgive me for not introducing myself...Atton Rayne" he said, looking around the hall for a moment...he wasnt sure how known he was outside of the jedi, but anyone bothering to reasearch his family tree would find a bombshell..."what do you propose in the way of scouting missions? the bothans?...the republics main problem will arise from trying to create a fleet without arousing the attention of the empire...might i suggest construction to take place in unknown space...as for the suggestion about me being the councils representative..." he paused looking around...he was no politican, he was a soilder, a fighter...and to shoulder that responsability?...he was not sure "...i, shall think about it..." he glanced back to flint "i will go now and speak with the council...and return when i have" he made a bow to flint and then the rest of the hall "may the force be with you" before hoping out of his pod and heading out of the hall...he would head to his ship and send a message to the order...

Brander sat back and listened, they still needed to hear from the other Senators their thoughts on Flints proposition, and Senator Lexic was one of them, Brander had seconded it Flints idea, and Brander would move it to a vote. He rose in his pod, tipped his head to Atton Rayne as the Jedi Knight took his leave.

Looking to the others, "The discussion is still opened to any other views of Senators Flints proposal", he said.

Brander now closed the discussion and moved it to votes.
